Outlaw

I hate comparisons, but I'm gonna do it anyway. I feel like it was a cross between [b:Undeniable|16109563|Undeniable (Undeniable, #1)|Madeline Sheehan|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1356218855s/16109563.jpg|21882391] and a Kristen Ashley book. It would probably appeal to people who like the MC storyline, but felt that Undeniable was too much. In some ways I felt like the book had an identity crisis (or maybe that's just me). I was never able to buy into Cole's "bad-assedness". He was just sweet in my head. We honestly don't know a lot about Cole and his past or even many of the "bad" things he's done. (Yes, I realize he murdered a couple of guys in the book, but they were into sex trafficking and rape, so in my head that doesn't make Cole a bad guy.) Maybe if more had been revealed about his "ghosts" or if we actually saw him behave badly I would have bought into the bad-ass. Ditto with Cole's MC...supposed to be bad, but I didn't really see it. Add in the emotional storyline and it felt like more of a new adult/contemporary romance read to me.
